Present Status of the Effectiveness of the Patch Test Reagent for Titanium Hypersensitivity

Titanium and titanium alloys have been used for dental implants, due to their excellent biocompatibility suitable mechanical properties. The frequency in use of applications has gradually increased. For example, 2020, a Japanese insurance approved the pure posterior molars as metallic cast crown. also frameworks removable partial denture. Allergic reactions are rare but do occur. One theory unexplained implant loss is that patient hypersensitive titanium. hypersensitivity causes an inflammatory reaction body failure osseointegrate, resulting failure. patch test diagnosis unreliable because result does not match clinical symptoms. Standard reagents tests needed accurate prevent implants.
 objective this review was evaluate literature reporting status allergic analyze results mentioned. Based on these results, possible standardization reagent were discussed. These searched literatures indicated further national and/or registry based studies will be better inform practice identify scale metal sensitivity, clear diagnostic criteria, long-term performance data hypoallergenic implants.
